This Renaissance-style three-story corner building dates from the turn of the century, making it one of Ipoh’s oldest commercial buildings. In the 1950s, S.P.H. De Silva had their shop here selling trophies, cups, shields, and medals while their jewelry shop was up the street. Other fine jewelry shops established by the Sinhalese in Ipoh include P.G. Matheshamy, T. A. Adiris, and B. P. de Silva.
