The memorial to the dead of the two world wars originally had a bronze plate bearing the words “Sacred to the memory of the men from the state of Perak who fell in the Great War 1914-1918” and a marble slab adding “And to those who died in the 1939-1945 War.” These plaques have been replaced with a general inscription to “warriors who fight to uphold the country’s peace and sovereignty.”
